Worker safe after construction accident at Line 3 site in Hubbard County

HUBBARD CO., MN-- An excavator operator is safe Saturday after an accident at a Line 3 Pipeline construction site in Hubbard County.

According to a Line 3 Resistance group, a worker became trapped in the cab of a piece of machinery that broke through the ice and became submerged in a wetland by LaSalle Creek.

We reached out to Enbridge for comment on the incident.

They say that the worker was transported to a hospital in Fargo, North Dakota where he was treated and released.

"Safety is our first priority for the thousands workers who are currently replacing Line 3 on construction sites spread across the more than 330 mile route," said Juli Kelner, commutations specialist with Enbridge.

The incident is under investigation.
