MADISON (WKOW) — The Wisconsin National Guard and Department of Health Services will partner to launch a mobile vaccination program beginning next week.
Gov. Tony Evers announced the measure in a press release sent Tuesday.
“It has always been our goal to get folks vaccinated as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible,” said Gov. Evers. “These mobile vaccination teams are going to help us do just that by continuing to expand vaccine distribution across our state, leveraging partnerships and our best resources to meet folks where they are in their own communities.”
The program will launch next Tuesday with nine mobile vaccination teams.
Members of the National Guard will staff the teams along with pharmacy or nursing student volunteers through a partnership with the University of Wisconsin System.
UW students who volunteer to help administer vaccinations will be eligible to receive a $500 tuition credit.
