Victim in fatal Fond du Lac shooting identified, suspect still on run

CLOQUET, MN -- Authorities have identified the 16-year old Cloquet boy who was shot and killed on the Fond du Lac Reservation early Monday morning.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, Joseph Peterson's body was found outside a home on Giniiw Road.

As of Thursday morning, authorities said they are still searching for the suspect, Joseph Fohrenkam, 18, also from the Cloquet area.

A warrant for second-degree manslaughter has been issued for Fohrenkam's arrest.

It's possible Fohrenkam still has a 9mm handgun with him. Authorities said he may be with his mother, Littlefawn Fohrenkam.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 911 or the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office at 218-625-3581.

Authorities have not released information about what led up to the shooting.
