DULUTH, MN -- An intensive care nurse was the first person at St. Luke's Hospital to receive the COVID-19 vaccine Friday morning.
Samantha Moder said it just felt like a tiny pinch and was similar to getting the flu shot.
As an ICU nurse, Moder is at high risk for exposure.
She says it's been a trying few months with the pandemic, but the vaccine offers a light at the end of the tunnel.
"I'm going to be safer. I don't have to worry as much. We need to move forward. This is a momentous occasion," Moder said.
Essentia Health administered its first vaccine on Thursday.
