DULUTH, MN-- A giving tree is growing in Duluth and spreading some holiday cheer.

Lara Signorelli said a friend of hers in the Twin Cities set up a giving tree and she wanted to try it here.

She looked at several wish lists for organizations like CHUM, Safe Haven, and Life House.

She wrote the items they need on cards and hung them in a tree outside her house.

People can swing by, take a card, and meet the need.

Signorelli said it's been a tough year and it feels good to give back.

"It's fun for me. I don't have kids and so just doing something brings joy to other people. It's fun. It's quite exhilarating, actually," she said.

Signorelli says people have taken a number of the cards. Now she's just waiting for the items to be returned.

The deadline is December 24th. She'll deliver the items after that.

If you'd like to help, you can check out the tree, located at 3623 Greysolon Road in Duluth.
