DULUTH, MN-- Some Duluth elementary school kids are getting a special lesson in giving.
Their teacher, Charlyne Lemons from Condgon Park Elementary, typically spends a certain amount of money on gifts for her students every holiday season.
That that's not possible this year while distance learning.
Instead, she's donating that money to a local organization and letting her students choose which one.
"I am so proud of the students with their willingness to give to others as oppose to receiving or getting for themselves and I'm encouraging them to do the same for me," said Lemons.
"It's better to give than get," said Sylvia Petroski, a student at Congdon Park Elementary.
The students voted to send the money to Animal Allies Humane Society.
