DULUTH, MN-- With temperatures dropping in the Twin Ports one local store is making sure those in need stay warm.

Saturday Yarn Harbor held their Warm Up the City event.

Volunteers and staff spent the morning placing hats and mittens in different locations across the city.

Each item is given a tag reading "I am not lost, If you need me please take me home with you."

All items given out were donated to Yarn Harbor.

"Five, six years maybe we have been doing this. Every year is a little different but this year I think with COVIDbecause people are at home, cleaning their closets. We have been inundated with donations which is wonderful," said Kathy Thomas owner of Yarn Harbor.

Yarn Harbor started distributing the items at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
