SUPERIOR, WI-- Ski and snowboards headed to the hills Saturday as Mont du Lac in Superior opened their hills for the 2020-2021 season.
Two of their runs opened this weekend, with more expected to open as the season progresses.
As we enter into the winter months in a pandemic, resort staff are taking necessary measures to keep everyone safe while on the slopes this year.
One notable change is that no personal gear will be allowed in the chalet, and everyone is required to 'boot up' and get ready in your car.
Right now there are no limits on resort capacity but for those concerned, with busier weekends Mont du Lac says they have plans in place to keep people outdoors.
"When our season gets rolling, and we get a little busier on the weekend, we will add in food and beverage options outside and so for Thanksgiving weekend, when we expect a larger crowd, we will have restrooms outside food and beverage options outside to really push people to stay out of the chalet and stay outside," said Bridgette Duffy, Sales and Marketing Manager for Mont du Lac.
Season passes are on sale now and come with a Superior pass that grants access to over 60 resorts across 19 states.
