Lift Bridge, Enger Tower lit purple to honor COVID-19 victims, frontline workers

DULUTH, MN -- Duluth's Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower will be among dozens of landmarks across Minnesota lit Purple Thursday to honor COVID-19 victims and frontline workers.

Both the Lift Bridge and Enger Tower will be lit starting at 5 p.m.

The Governor is inviting any and all to participate in “#MNtogether.”

“When times are tough, Minnesotans rise up by coming together,” Governor Walz said. “Tonight, communities across the state will come together in a symbolic moment of unity to honor those we have lost and the workers who are on the frontline of this battle.”

The governor is continuing to ask for all flags at state and federal buildings in Minnesota to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the 19th day of each month.

He requested this earlier into the pandemic as a way to remember, mourn, and honor lives lost to the virus.

The following will be lit purple at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020:
