DULUTH, MN-- Duluth's largest, privately owned building will soon feature a destination medical and surgery center.
According to a press release, the building, located on the corner of Arrowhead and Rice Lake Road, has housed the UnitedHealth Group for 20 years.
UnitedHealth Group, which employs about 600 on-site employees, will remain on the top floor.
Duluth-based developer Titanium Partners will then work with several local medical providers who will become tenants in the building, creating a destination medical center.
The medical providers include Northern Neurosurgery & Spine, Dermatology Duluth, and a local physical therapy practice.
Other medical specialties within the building will be announced in the near future.
The building will also feature a large, state-of-the-art surgery center.
Officials say the destination medical and surgery center will add new jobs to the community and give residents in the region a choice when it comes to medical specialty providers.
The $16 million project includes upgrades to the exterior, new parking lots, and upgrades to the Arrowhead Road-Rice Lake Road intersection.
The new center is scheduled to open in late 2021.
