DULUTH, Minn. -- For the first time in eight months, the UMD women's hockey team has a gameday to look forward to.
The WCHA officially released the first four weeks of their women's hockey conference schedule on Friday. The Bulldogs will open up on Friday, November 20th at Minnesota State.
UMD has spent most of the fall practicing at AMSOIL Arena in anticipation of the announcement. Now that a date has been solidified, head coach Maura Crowell says her team is starting to get excited.
"They've been dying to get something solidified, you know we knew something was on the horizon, but to actually see your opponent, and see the date with it, that's really exciting for them," said Crowell.
"We shifted our gears in the last couple weeks knowing that it was likely that these games would be coming in November, so we started incorporating more team tactics and systems and some of those components to it."
It is not yet clear if AMSOIL Arena, or UMD will allow fans at their games to start their season. For the full WCHA release, click here.
