DULUTH, MN -- One of Minnesota's oldest craft breweries, which closed less than a year ago, is reopening under new ownership.

Sometime around December 2019, Lake Superior Brewing closed their doors.

Now, the head brewmaster at Dubh Linn Brew Pub in downtown Duluth and his wife are purchasing the shuttered business.

They have big plans to bring new life to the brewery, including adding a food option and moving to a new location on Superior Street.

"We just felt like it really needed to have a big refresh and kind of reinvent the brewery and the brand and we kept thinking, 'why is no one in Lakeside, could we be in Lakeside?', and when we found a building we could be in Lakeside it sealed the deal for us," said Sarah and Seth Maxim Co-Owners of Lake Superior Brewing.

The new location will be on 53rd Ave, E. in the old Xcel Xercise building.

They are hoping to open next summer.
