ST. PAUL, MN -- A 28-year-old felon pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court to firing a gun near a school on the Fond du Lac Reservation in Carlton County last October.
According to court records, Shelby Boswell fired the gun at his sister's boyfriend's head on the grounds of Fond du Lac Head Start.
The shooting happened within 1,000 feet of the Fond du Lac High School.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Because he has prior felony convictions in multiple jurisdictions, Boswell is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition.
A sentencing date has not been scheduled yet.
