Duluth Transit Authority to return to traditional fare collection

DULUTH, MN -- After successfully installing Plexiglass driver-protection barriers on the fleet, the DTA is set to resume standard passenger fare collection on Tuesday, October 1.

The move follows a recent return to front-door boarding and other measures related to safe operations.

Passengers will find the same fare structure and payment procedures that were in place before the current stretch of COVID-19-related free service began on March 18.

“The DTA is also in the midst of training bus drivers, which will give us the needed capacity to resume service on Routes #4, #15, and #25(DuLooper), all of which will reactivate on Monday, September 28th,” Assistant General Manager Rod Fournier said.
