SUPERIOR, WI-- On Saturday many gathered at Earth Rider Brewery and took part in a yoga session that was far from typical.
It’s called goat yoga, and it’s something that has been in the works for two years in the Twin Ports according to Angela Abernathy, Owner of Duluth Goat Yoga.
“Goat yoga is pretty much a beginner yoga class with miniature goats roaming around they like to hop on things,” said Abernathy.
While the idea may seem far from ordinary to some, it's a trend that is becoming popular.
“I saw an actress talking about a fitness trend she was doing called goat yoga. I just lit up and everything in me told me I needed to pursue it because I love goats,” Abernathy said.
Classes have been going on at Earth Rider for two weeks and those in attendance say it’s an experience that’s unforgettable.
“I’ve heard of goat yoga before never participated I always wanted to participate and so we checked that off the list today and it was a lot of fun,” Chelsea Detloff a participant said.
With the pandemic going on, it’s easy to get stressed out, but it’s nothing a little goat yoga can’t fix.
“We are super proud to offer something fun and stress-reducing during this time,” said Abernathy.
Abernathy says she hopes to have a permanent location where people can do goat yoga in the future.
