Traffic signal replacement project begins Monday near St. Scholastica

DULUTH, MN-- The Chester Park Neighborhood will be getting new traffic lights which could cause some delays in travel.

The City of Duluth will begin the process of replacing the traffic signal at the intersection of Woodland Ave., Kent Road and E. 8th Street.

The project will consist of replacing the current system that includes accessible pedestrian signals and emergency vehicle preemption improvements.

Adjacent pedestrian curb ramps will also be updated to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance.

E. 8th Street and Kent Road will be closed starting Monday, so motorists will need to use alternate routes to access Woodland Ave.

The left-turn lanes on Woodland Ave. to Kent Road and E. 8th Street will also be closed.

The project is expected to be completed by October 23.
