Warm mid-week, storms likely Friday evening

TODAY: High pressure remains to our east with a ridge sitting over our region. A shortwave trough to our south brings partly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of t-storms. Temperatures will be around 80°F. Lows will be in the 50's and 60's with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.

THURSDAY: Our shortwave trough progresses northward, so we'll see mostly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of showers and t-storms. Highs will still be around 80°F. We'll remain partly to mostly cloudy into the overnight hours.

FRIDAY: Models are beginning to agree on the timing of a cold front bringing us showers and t-storms. Throughout the day, we'll see partly cloudy skies with a 40% chance of showers and t-storms. T-storms become likely during the evening and overnight hours heading into Saturday. A couple of these storms could be severe, with the main threats being strong winds and large hail.

SATURDAY: Models have also began to agree on a solution heading into the weekend. Lingering showers and t-storms will be possible in Wisconsin for the first part of the day, but a weaker area of high pressure brings partly cloudy to mostly clear skies heading into the second half of the day. We'll see a 20% chance of showers and t-storms throughout the day in MN. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70's.

SUNDAY: We'll continue to see partly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of showers and t-storms. Highs will be in the mid 70's, and lows will be in the 40's and 50's with mostly clear skies.

NEXT WEEK: Below average temperatures settle in for the first part of the week with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. I'm not anticipating any shower or t-storm activity for the first part of the week at this time.

Have a great day!
