Police: missing Hermantown man found safe

HERMANTOWN, MN -- Hermantown Police say a 80-year-old man who went missing from his assisted living facility has been found safe.

According to Hermantown's police chief, officers responded to Golden Oaks around 2 a.m. Monday, after staff called to report the man, Greg, missing from the facility. Police did not share his last name.

He was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police shared an update around 12:15 p.m. Monday saying he had been found safe.

HERMANTOWN, MN -- Hermantown Police are searching for an 80-year-old man missing from an assisted living facility, according to a report Monday.

Police officers responded to Golden Oaks around 2 a.m. Monday, after staff called to report the man, Greg, missing from the facility. Police did not share his last name.

He is believed to have been last seen around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Greg is mostly bald, approximately six feet tall, and 180 pounds.

Staff members say he was last seen wearing a blue and black checkered flannel shirt with blue jeans and brown boots.

He may or may not have his glasses with him, and is also hard of hearing.

Greg is reportedly independent and often goes for walks down the road and also in the woods.

The Hermantown Police Department along with the Saint Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Saint Louis County Rescue Squad, Proctor Police Department, Lake Superior CART Team and other partners are currently searching for Greg.
