DULUTH, MN -- A suspect in a shooting in Duluth Friday was arrested in Superior after allegedly leading police there on a chase and crashing into a pond.
The shooting happened around 11:53 a.m. in Duluth's Central Hillside neighborhood near Harbor Highlands.
A 32-year-old Duluth man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Superior Police, shortly after the incident, authorities shared a description of a vehicle suspected to be involved in the shooting.
Around 12 p.m., a Superior police officer saw a vehicle matching that description entering Superior from the Bong Bridge.
The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver allegedly led authorities on a chase before crashing into a water holding pond in the Billings Park neighborhood.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and is in custody, according to Superior Police.
Duluth Police said the person arrested in Superior is a person of interest in Friday's shooting, but did not identify the individual or say if they are known to the victim.
