Memorial car show honors community members, adapts to pandemic

DULUTH, MN -- Many events around the Northland have either been cancelled or altered this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual Kyle Smalley Memorial Car Show was no exception, but the event also adapted to the loss of a second beloved member of the Twin Ports classic car community.

The event was re-named to the Smalley-Moen Memorial Car Show to honor Jerry Moen.

Moen was a beloved member of the classic car community who recently died after a 12 year battle with cancer.

The event was originally named for Kyle Smalley, who unexpectdly passed away five years ago.

With Spirit Valley days being canceled due to COVID-19, organizers still wanted to hold the event to remember the lives of both men.

The event was held at the Buffalo House in Duluth.
