DULUTH, MN-- A once in a lifetime experience is how former Saints quarterback Zach Edwards described his next step in his football career.
Edwards will head overseas to Barcelona, Spain to play for the Pioneers in the LNFA.
He's the 2nd Saints quarterback to sign a pro contract. The first being Alex Thiry back in 2012.
Edwards says after weeks of Zoom meeting and text messages with the team, he knew this was the right fit for him and his future.
"What a better place to go than Barcelona, Spain. Definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity. It's going to be a great experience for me to see the world. Just a kid from the twin cities going over to Barcelona, Spain to play some football. Can't really argue with that, I'm really excited and that's definitely a huge bonus to go see the world. It just kind of fell in my lap and I'm running with it," said Edwards.
Edwards will report to the team in November.
