DULUTH, MN-- It's been over nine months since the tragic loss of Esko football player Jackson Pfister. On Saturday, he was remembered for his first true love, baseball.
Four teams competed in the 1st annual Jackson Pfister Memorial Tournament. That included Pfister's former team the Duluth Jaxx.
The team honored Jackson by wearing a patch with his initials and the number thirty.
Beforehand, Jackson's parents Matt and Brooke shared just how much it means to them to have Jackson remembered this way.
"He would not want this to be about him, he would want it to be about the Jaxx team and even because he loved the game so much he would want this tournament to honor the other teams that came in to play," said Matt.
"Jackson's dream was that of the little boy in the backyard. I hope all these kids feel that today and they play with that heart and passion. I'm willing to bet Jackson thinks they will," added Brooke.
