ST. PAUL, MN -- Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has announced a statewide facemask mandate to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Walz made the announcement during a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
The mandate requires that facemasks be worn in all indoor, public places across the state.
The requirement goes into effect Saturday, July 25.
Walz's announcement comes after several Minnesota cities passed their own mask requirements, including: Duluth, Cloquet, Rochester, Edina, Mankato and more.
