DULUTH, MN-- On Saturday, Swift's Leadership Martial Arts hosted their "Workouts in the Park" program at Leif Erikson Park.
Participants took part in a Tai Chi lesson which focused on building strength, endurance, accuracy, and focus.
Instructor Jessa Swift says it also teaches self-defense while exercising. She also added it helps during stressful times such as now.
"During this time, Tai Chi is amazing for stress relief. It's deep breathing, it's a little more slow moving, it's very calming. It's movement of the energy through the body and at the same time you're also feeling energized. So for the community right now who's going through a really tough time with the COVID situation, I would really recommend Tai Chi," said Swift.
The program also has Taekwondo lessons in their outside workouts.
