HIBBING, MN -- A Hibbing girl was seriously hurt when the driver of a FedEx truck hit her while she was riding her bike Tuesday morning.

Hibbing Police responded to the crash around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday near 31st Street West and 5th Avenue West.

The girl, indentified as Rose Sajevic by a family friend, was taken to the hospital.

According to the GoFundMe account set up for Rose's family, she suffered two broken femurs, cracked ribs, and other broken bones. She has many surgeries ahead of her and is expected to spend the next six months in a wheelchair.

A family friend said she set up the GoFundMe account to help the Sajevics during this difficult time because the family is expecting their fourth child soon and their father, who works at an Iron Range mine, has been laid off due to the pandemic.

The GoFundMe account has collected almost $15,000 in donations in the day since it was created.

Hibbing Police say the girl was travelling south on 5th Avenue West while the truck was coming west on 31st Street West.

Hibbing Police called the crash an "accident" and said the driver of the FedEx truck will not be charged.
