CHISHOLM, MN -- Construction began last summer for the new 15-mile bike trail, so Friday couldn't come soon enough for riders to test out the addition.
The Redhead Mountain Bike Park will open to the public June 12.
You can access a lot of the trails from the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm.
From their zig-zag paths to the banks of old mining pits, the Redhead Mountain Bike Park has trails for all skill levels.
According to those who worked on the project, they say some of the Midwest's most experienced trail architects had a hand in the making.
Chisholm City Counselor, Adam Lantz says, "It will make Chisholm a mountain biking destination."
He added that it would be a great addition for the Iron Range as well.
"The locals are excited and the people out of town are excited. We have lots of visitors that are planning on coming to the soft opening on June 12. It's gonna be great for our economy," said Lantz.
They plan is to add 15 more miles by next summer.
