St. Louis County seeks volunteers for mental health advisory council

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MN-- St. Louis County is looking for volunteers for two Local Mental Health Advisory Councils (LAC's).

The advisory councils are focusing on providing essential input on children and adult mental health services.

Those who are asked to join will be asked to commit to "fostering an environment that is focused on the values of hope, prevention, wisdom recovery, dignity, and inclusion."

One LAC will be in the northern part of the county and the other in the southern part of the county. Each council will meet in their respective region.

The goal of the council is to bring a diverse perspective to mental health and identify resources, changes, additions and improvements as well.

Starting this October, the LAC's will meet approximately nine times throughout the year.

Applications must be submitted by June 30. Candidates will be notified no later than August 14.

More information and the application can be found here.
