VIRGINIA, MN- Protests continue around the state of Minnesota and that included up on the Iron Range on Sunday as citizens from Virginia gathered around city hall.
Dozens of people took part in the protest which included speakers as a well a moment of silence for George Floyd.
One of the speakers at the protest was Samson Longtin, who stressed the importance of equality as well as the de-escalation of violence.
"I think it's very important that we get everyone on the same note, we make sure everyone has the same end game and the end game here is everyone goes home tonight safe, no buildings are ruined and that we leave an impact. Maybe tonight, when people lay their head on their pillow, they'll be thinking about what happened in their town today and they can sleep on it and wake up tomorrow with a different perspective," said Longtin.
Following the gathering outside city hall, protesters marched through downtown Virginia.
