Duluth man arrested in connection with multiple structure fires


ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MN-- The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with multiple structure fires Monday morning.

According to the Sheriff's Office, they responded to a call of multiple structure fires on the 6400 block of Beckman Road in Grand Lake Township Monday morning.

Deputies arrived to find a travel trailer engulfed, along with a mobile home that was also on fire.

Authorities say both structures were a total loss, and damage totaled $15,000.

No one was inside during the fires.

Sheriff's Office officials say witness statements and physical evidence showed the fires were set intentionally.

After an investigation, a 53-year-old man was arrested for 2 counts of 1st degree arson. He's currently being held at the St. Louis County Jail awaiting official charges.
