DULUTH, MN-- Saturday graduating students at the College of St. Scholastica celebrated their graduation in a different kind of way.

Because students were not able to walk in person the college put on an online commencement ceremony.

During the online ceremony, graduates got to listen to a greeting from their college president Barbra Mcdonald and hear their degree get conferred.

Steve Lyons, Vice President of Student Affairs, says the college felt that this was an important experience to offer their students.

"I think it's really important that we extend that hospitality and create that community. That's what students experience at Scholastica. That's what they live by and I think that's what's really important to us. That they get a chance to participate in some way," Lyons said.

Students who graduated Sunday will also be eligible to attend commencement in the winter.
