Fire causes $50K in damage to Gary New Duluth garage


DULUTH, MN -- Duluth Fire officials say a fire caused $50,000 worth of damage to a garage in the Gary New Duluth neighborhood Thursday morning.

Fire officials responded to the 1400 block of 103rd Ave W. around 7:57 a.m.

Everyone inside the nearby home got out safely.

Fire officials say the fire began outside of the garage and involved a lean-to shed attached to the back of the garage.

The fire damaged to the overhead power service connection to the house. Minnesota Power
was called to disconnect and restore service.

The power cable did not appear to influence the cause or extent of the fire, fire officials said.

DULUTH, MN-- Duluth firefighters are on the scene of a garage fire Thursday morning.

According to our KBJR 6 photographer on the scene, the fire broke out on the 1400 block of 103rd Ave W. in the Gary New Duluth neighborhood.

Crews were still on scene as of 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

It's unclear what started the flames, or whether any injuries have been reported.
