DULUTH, MN -- All Salvation Army stores have closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Those in the organization still want to make a difference.
Monetary donations to the Salvation Army will be matched up to a half a million dollars.
The organization is also doing their yearly March food share program.
Officials say this means if you donate now your dollar will go the furthest.
"Every year in March we have a March food share, which is a Minnesota program, where any dollar that is given is also matched, so it's a double whammy effect, so gift now and it will be used for months to come," said Ellison.
Along with closing the thrift stores, the free lunch program is moving to a more sanitary bag lunch as another precaution
