Minnesota construction workers considered essential, Superior St. project to start April 6

DULUTH, MN -- Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's office is considering construction workers among those who are exempt to his "Stay at Home" order issued Wednesday, which means phase 3 of Duluth's Superior Street Reconstruction project is expected to start on schedule.

A Duluth City spokesperson confirmed that construction between Lake Avenue and 3rd Avenue West in downtown Duluth is expected to begin April 6.

Signs will be put up next week.

Eventually, Phase 3 work will mean the Lake Avenue and Superior Street intersection will be closed to traffic. No word on when that closure is expected to happen.
