BAYFIELD, WI -- Grammy-winning Native American musician, Bill Miller, visited Bayfield students to show them how to deal with trauma in a positive way.
The musician was visiting the school to share his music, but also to talk about difficult issues such as overcoming trauma.
He shared stories of his own trauma, including the passing of his mother and son, and how music helped him stay positive and not focus on the negatives.
According to Bill, "I was showing them how to use their environment to further their lives because a lot of times we feel hopeless. We feel 'oh we're just in nowhere land' like the old Beatles song, but that's not true."
Around 200 students had the chance to listen to Miller's music and message on Thursday.
