DULUTH, MN--Runners are already preparing for Grandma's Marathon
and Saturday morning they learned more about how to properly prepare for the race.
An event event, called "Gearing up", was hosted by Grandmas Marathon and Essentia Health.
It started Saturday morning with 70 runners gathering for a group run.
After that, runners met at the Sports Garden in Canal Park, and broke into groups to learn more about running nutrition, stretching and training.
After the break-out sessions, runners watched the Olympic Marathon Trials.
Mandi Peterson, Public Relations for Grandma's Marathon, says it is a cool experience for runners.
" It's really great to get to watch them because they've run here in Duluth and now their running at Atlanta to try to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo," Peterson said.
Grandmas Marathon will take place Saturday June 20th.
Registration for the marathon opened back in October.
