HERMANTOWN, Minn. -- The pipeline of Hermantown Hawks to the UMD Men's Hockey program is as strong as ever.
Junior defenseman Joey Pierce became the latest Hawk to verbally commit to UMD last week.
"I've always wanted to be a Bulldog, it's a great place to play. They've obviously been so successful. A lot of great guys from here that I've been able to talk to and they all love it, but it was a really easy decision honestly," said Pierce.
11 former Hawks have gone through UMD's program, including 3 on the current roster. Hermantown is currently in pursuit of their fourth state title since 2007.
