DULUTH-- It is Winter Bike Week and Saturday dozens grabbed their fat-tire bikes for a group ride and barbecue in Lester Park.
The event was put on by the Zeitgeist Community, Ursa Minor Brewing, and The Duluth Experience.
Continental Ski and Bike provided the barbecued food as well as a rental fleet of fat bikes for the public to use.
Shuttles were also offered from Ursa Minor Brewing to Lester Park for the group ride.
Josh Kowalski is involved with putting the ride together says trail conditions this season are lending themselves to faster speeds.
"The trail conditions have been prime all winter, so we've been able to have good hard-packed snow and really good riding conditions which does lend to faster speeds. Still not quite like mountain biking in the summer, but definitely something to keep people active in the wintertime who like to mountain bike," Kowalski said.
