DULUTH, MN-- Minnesota State Senator Erik Simonson announced he's running for re-election at a kick-off campaign Thursday night.
Simonson, a democrat from Duluth, was first elected to the state Senate in 2016 and served in the House prior to that.
He said if re-elected, he says he'll continue fighting for education, affordable healthcare, economic development, and working people.
"I'm always excited to run and represent Duluth because Duluth is a really diverse city," said Simonson. "A lot of people with a lot of opinions, which is good. By and large, people are really good about participating and always been there for me and I'll try to continue to be there for them."
Simonson has received endorsements from a number of unions including the Minnesota AFL/CIO and the Teamsters.
