DES MOINES, IA (AP) -- It's still too early to call a winner among the Democratic presidential candidates in the Iowa caucuses.
According to partial results released by the Iowa Democratic Party, Pete Buttigieg is holding a slight lead over Bernie Sanders in the opening contest of the Democratic race for the presidential nomination.
The next contest in the election season is the New Hampshire primary this coming Tuesday.
The initial Iowa results came out after 24 hours of chaos. Technical problems marred the complicated caucus process, forcing state officials to apologize. And the troubles raised questions about Iowa's traditional place atop the presidential primary calendar.
