Demolition of former Kozy building stayed up to 6-12 months

DULUTH, MN-- Monday night, the Duluth City Council sent a contract to demolish the Pastorate Terrace, known as the Kozy building, back to city administration.

The city had a contract with Rachel Contracting LLC for the demolition of the building worth $148,683.

According to city officials, a district court ruled a stay on the demolition, pending an appeal from the former owner of the building.

Officials say it could take 6-months to a year before the teardown could be approved

The demolition of the Kozy has been faced with legal battles for several years.
