GRAND RAPIDS, MN -- Minnesota's sex trafficking fight took center stage in in Grand Rapids on Thursday.
Congressman Pete Stauber (R-MN 8th) helped host a public forum on Sex Trafficking and Exploitation at Itasca Community College.
Stauber was joined by area tribal leaders and law enforcement, who fielded questions and ideas from the public on ways to stop trafficking in our region.
Stauber says it's a community effort.
"When young women come forward that they've been sexually assaulted, (it's important) that you immediately believe them and then work on taking care of them, giving them the comfort; the healing they need and insure that the offender is held accountable," Stauber said.
State Human rights representatives were also on hand to field questions and concerns from the public.
