DULUTH, MN -- A Duluth man was formally charged Friday after an arrest in connection with a drug bust resulted in the seizure of a large amount of fentanyl, thousands of dollars, and loaded guns in Duluth's East Hillside.
Matthew James Erickson, 30, is charged with 1st Degree Sale of Fentanyl and Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle.
Police found 92 grams of fentanyl, about $6,000 and two loaded guns when they searched an apartment near the intersection of 7th Avenue East and East 2nd Street.
Due to the high amount of opioids seized in this case, Duluth police say this will greatly affect those suffering from addiction.
The police department encourages those struggling with substance abuse to call the Opioid Response Team Hotline at 218-730-4009.
Erickson's is due back in court on February 11.
