Duluth companies hold ‘Women in Construction’ event

DULUTH, MN-- Construction companies in the Twin Ports want to recruit more women.

It's why several businesses held a speed-networking event at Clyde Iron Works Wednesday.

Leaders from companies like APi Group, Northland Constructors, and Cleveland Cliffs all spoke with women considering joining the industry.

"Ideally, I would love for this to show girls coming up through school that construction is a place to be that gives them both opportunity and support," Lucie Stein-Cartford Training and Development Manager for United Piping, said.

Business leaders also connected women with mentors from within their companies.
