DULUTH, MN-- They probably wouldn't make it til midnight, so kids in the Twin Ports celebrated the new year 12 hours early.
The Duluth Public Library hosted its Noon Year's Eve celebration Tuesday.
Kids 2nd grade and younger enjoyed a balloon drop, dance party, crafts and music.
Organizers say it's a fun way to ring in the new year and celebrate literacy.
"The library just really enjoys bringing fun to the library and having kids enjoy literacy in a fun way. We are incorporating literacy through the activities we're doing with writing and playing and singing and talking," said Lynn Schwarzkopf, Library Technician and Youth Services for the library.
This is the 4th year the library has hosted the noon celebration.
