Man rings Salvation Army bells for 3 decades

DULUTH, MN -- If you have been out shopping at Fleet Farm recently, you may have heard the Carol of the Bells.

Local Salvation Army Volunteer Doug Houchins has weilded his bell every year since 1988.

His 30 years of experience have helped spread joy to thousands of people.

He suffered a brain tumor in his younger years, which is why he has dedicated every holiday season to the little red kettle.

"I just hope that somebody else can get some aid. Or something else like that, because I know what it is to be down and out," says Houchins.
