Dog dies from multiple stab wounds, $5K reward offered

CASS LAKE, MN -- Police are asking for your help in finding whoever is responsible for stabbing a dog to death in Cass Lake, Minnesota.

According to Leech Lake Tribal Police, officers were called to the Allen's Bay Housing area of rural Cass Lake on Friday, December 6 after getting reports of a medium-sized, light brown dog with stab wounds.

Officers attempted to bring the dog to a veterinarian, but the animal ended up dying before arriving at the clinic.

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person, or people, responsible for the incident.

The reward is doubled from the standard animal cruelty award due to a donation from a board member.
