Below average temps for the first half of the week

Not as cold as it was Sunday. The morning will start off near 0° and in the afternoon the temps will warm to the low teens with partly cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the west at 5-10mph.

There is low that will be moving over the Northland that has very little moisture with it. It will just bring cloudy skies and a 20% chance for a brief snow flurry. What the low will bring is colder temperatures behind it. Before the winds shift out of the North high will reach 15°. After the wind shifts in the afternoon temps will plummet to make for a very cold Wednesday.

Cold! Morning temps will be 15 to 20° below zero! and the highs will be in the single digits. Skies will be mostly sunny in the morning with increasing clouds in the afternoon.

This will be the first day of the warm up. Temps will be much warmer that Wednesday, highs will be near 20°. Skies will be mostly cloudy.

The warming trend continues all they way through the weekend. Temperatures warm in to the mid 20s Friday and low 30s for the weekend!

Meteorologist Alex Libby

I have lived my entire life in Maine, just North of Portland in the town of Freeport. I studied Meteorology at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and minored in Mathematics. I have been interested in Meteorology since I was about 5 years old. I played hockey until college and I played baseball throughout my time at PSU. So far I have loved the Duluth area and I’m excited for lots of snow and -60 degree windchills.
