Sub-zero temperatures return

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

SUNDAY:

Morning temperatures will be very cold. Air temps will be near -10° and the wind chill will be around -30°. Skies will be mostly sunny in the morning with increasing clouds in the afternoon. Highs will only be in the single digits, and there will be a consistent West wind 5-10 mph keeping the wind chill below zero all day. Good news is, no chance for snow for everyone except for in the UP.

MONDAY:

A little warmer than Sunday with morning temps near 0° and the high close to 10°. There will be a good amount of sun with partly cloudy skies. Southwest wind 5-10 mph. No chance for snow.

TUESDAY:

A very similar day to Monday with the morning temp near 0° and the high around 12°. The only difference is there will be a few more clouds with mostly cloudy skies.

WEDNESDAY:

The arctic air makes a brief return. Wednesday morning we will see lows 15 to 20° below zero! Highs staying in the single numbers and gusty winds will make for a very cold day. Good news is it will be short lived. Skies will be mostly sunny.

LATE NEXT WEEK:

The warm up begins, at least for Minnesota standards. Temperatures will slowly warm each day. Highs going from 20° on Thursday, to 25° on Friday, and all the way up to 30° by Next weekend!

Meteorologist Alex Libby

I have lived my entire life in Maine, just North of Portland in the town of Freeport. I studied Meteorology at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and minored in Mathematics. I have been interested in Meteorology since I was about 5 years old. I played hockey until college and I played baseball throughout my time at PSU. So far I have loved the Duluth area and I’m excited for lots of snow and -60 degree windchills.
