UPDATE: All lanes of Interstate 94 reopen following crashes

UPDATE: According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, all lanes of Interstate 94 have now reopened.


UPDATE: According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, nobody was severely injured or killed in Thursday's pileup on Interstate 94.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 94 are open but the eastbound lanes remain closed as the mess is cleaned up as of 1:35 p.m.

The DOT reports only minor injuries have been reported.


UPDATE: The interstate remains closed but some vehicles are starting to make their way through the wreckage.

The American Red Cross is opening a reception center for those impacted by the crash.

There will be water, snacks and information for motorists.

It will be at the Osseo Fire Department, 50965 Industrial Road.


Eau Claire (WQOW) - A portion of Interstate 94 is closed as crews work to clean up crashes caused by the slick roads.

According to the Wisconsin DOT, the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 are closed at Highway 53 in Eau Claire. Additionally, the westbound lanes of 94 are closed at Highway 10 in Osseo because of multiple crashes at mile marker 81 which is near Highway HH by Foster.

That is a 20-mile stretch of interstate that is closed.

Traffic is being rerouted according to the DOT. There is no word how long the closure will last.

Motorists traveling on I-94 and other roads are advised to turn on their vehicles’ lights, slow down and leave plenty of room between their vehicle and the one ahead of them.
