Few rain chances northeast Tuesday.

TONIGHT:
The jet stream is in a large trough to our east and a ridge to our west. We’re caught in between and will see a few waves that cause uplift push south and bring a 30% chance of rain for areas in Lake and Cook Counties tonight. The rest of the region stays dry with mostly clear to clear skies and low temps in the mid 50s. Winds are out of the WNW at 5-10mph.

TUESDAY:
The jet brings down another minor wave to the region and brings another 30% chance of a few afternoon showers to Lake and Cook Counties. Otherwise everywhere else is looking at mostly sunny skies with high temps in the low 80s. Winds are breezy out of the northwest at 5-15mph.

WEDNESDAY:
The ridge and corresponding high pressure continue to the east and clear us up on Wednesday. Lows are near 60 and highs are in the low 80s.

THURSDAY:
The high pressure system moves over Ohio and Pennsylvania while a low pressure system pushes closer, just north of Lake Winnipeg on Thursday. These two brings breezy southwest wind and warm up our temperatures. Lows are in the low 60s and highs reach the low 80s.

OVERNIGHT INTO FRIDAY:
Thursday night into Friday morning the low nears and increases our chances of rain to 50%. Lows are in the mid 60s. There’s a chance of some thunder too. The showers continue Friday morning with a 40% chance then skies start to clear by the afternoon. Highs are in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY:
A ridge in the jet stream swings over and increases our sun on Saturday. Lows are in the low 60s and highs reach the mid 80s. Looking like a great beach/lake day.
